Race Description:Most ancient race of creatures, that dwell in the depths of the seas and oceans washing Aivail. For the most part, the race is predominantly represented by - tritons. The primordial essence of the representatives of the races was created in the likeness of humans and sea creatures, based on the prevailing degree of similarity to one or the other side reasonableness was being determined, characteristic traits and degree of aggressiveness.
Appearance:Externally the creatures are thinner and taller than human representatives, with fins on the body. Skin colour of the aquatic creatures varies from pale green to dark blue. Hair usually corresponds to the colour of the skin, but can be one or two tones darker, and it becomes white once they grow of age. They can be at ease on land, but cannot handle strong heat well. Possess accelerated regeneration in contact with water, as well as enhanced physical abilities under it.
Culture and religion:The first Oceanids appeared by the will of the Great Water Elemental, in consequence of which all living creatures of this faction worshiped this spirit exclusively. The firstborn tritons became the leaders and elders of the sea peoples. They built a most powerful civilization, with a rich cultural component. The underwater world for many centuries was in harmony and peace, thanks to which the race is thriving. Among the tritons there are creators, talented researchers, as well as art historians. For the building of homes they adapt sea shells, fossils and decorate with bright corals. Adapted flooded ancient cities of humans for their temples. By nature they are non-conflictual, as calm as the azure surface of the ocean. But also, like the great ocean, at the right moment, oceanids show their stormy and majestic impulse. Aquatic creatures usually pay homage to at least one deity associated with the oceans, storms or nature. Otherwise their habits of worship are similar to those of standard races.
Relation to other races:Ancient human texts often mention encounters between seafarers and underwater creatures. In most cases, conflicts between human peoples and oceanids, ended without consequences. It is not surprising, that the rare representatives of this species, who decided to visit the surface, expect to hear in their address praise and reverence. Alas, terrestrial inhabitants know almost nothing about the feats of arms of this people. Fortunately, this is more embarrassing and surprising the tritons, rather than offending. They treat others with understanding and easy patronage. This neutrality was maintained until the Chaos Invasion. Awakened volcanoes and the movement of underwater plates led to global destruction of the structure of tritons dwellings, which prompted the leaders of the underwater world to enter into confrontation with the forces of evil.
Classification of race:The race, is perhaps one of the most diverse of beings.
Divine entities:
- The most ancient members of this race are the Water Elementals, first born of the Great Unified water Elemental. These elemental spirits are in constant interaction with the chosen leaders and mentors of the entire sea people. They protect and guide the entire underwater world on the path of prosperity and tranquility.
Predominant:
- The vast majority of which are tritons. The most intelligent, have strategic thinking, tactical skills, which allows them to lead the rest of small groups representatives.
Snake-like:
- Another large group are the snake-like organisms like Medusa, Naga, Sirens. Found most often on deserted islands or caves. Extremely autonomous and act in groups without much enthusiasm.
Shallow water ones:
- Small groups can be met, such as Adaros, Danaids, Mermaids, Nymphs. A feature of this group is the defense of their habitat, namely lakes, swamps, and underwater caves. Can be encountered in small groups, or as separate individuals. Out of them, Adaro can be identified as extremely aggressive.
Deep-sea ones:
- Almost uncontrollable and mindless creatures. They are driven by endless animal instinct. They live exclusively in deep-sea rifts and troughs, where no light ever penetrates.
Classes of Oceanids
Gladiator - triton hardened in innumerable battles in the arena, able to command and pass on his experience to young fighters, gladiator of oceanid is able to lead a long fight, exhausting the opponent, and come out of it as an absolute winner.
Charmer of Waters are priests of the northern garrison, who have undergone many rituals, in result of which they were given unprecedented powers in controlling the destructive forces of the ocean. The ice spells freeze the blood in the veins of the enemy, preventing them from coming within a safe distance.
Infiltrator is a skillful triton, skilled in espionage, obtaining information about the location of enemy troops. Cold calculation and lightning-fast reaction gives a huge advantage to his army, in an open clash with the enemy.
